Zu and Otis

Our dear friend Zu’s dachshund was run over by a car just the other day. The dogs name was Otis. Her neighbor hit him as he ran into the road. He died instantly in front of Zu’s house.

I’m hearing all this 3rd hand. From Zu’s dear friend Austin thru to Steph thru to me.

Otis was everything to Zu. He’s how we met Zu to begin with. They ran into each other on the street. Jewish islander with a wire haired runs into Steph and our pair of weird wieners. The bond was formed instantly.

I drove to Zu’s house on Crystal Springs this morning. A couple days had passed so I hoped she’d be somewhat ok. I didn’t bring anything. I just figured I’d hug her. Unannounced, I knocked on the door. She answered. I hugged her.

Reunited!

At last. The quarter is winding down and just a few more hours till midnight and all the final orders are counted and my boss can go to sleep. He knows I’m on vacation as soon as this day is over.

For tomorrow morning I fly to Atlanta and will be reunited with my wife and children, whom I haven’t seen in 30 whole days!

I can’t wait to see them! And hear all about their travels. And see our North Carolina homes. And play outside. And snuggle at night.

In North Carolina

I just got to NorthCarolina on June 24 and have been to the peanut shack a lot they have in my opinion the best peanuts in the country and I went to a cow sale, farming is a really big hobby in NorthCarolina and at the cow sale we saw the people bid on cows and we heard the person saying the bids and like the prices they bid on and he talked really really really fast u could not understand him at all except for a couple numbers literally. And we have our own 4wheeler here and by the way this is where my grandparents live and a treehouse and I will post a picture of the 4wheeler tomorrow.

Venice!

I am in Venice! It is beautiful here. There are no cars here, so you just get around by walking or taking a boat. Because the water is rising about an inch and a half per year, soon Venice will be completely underwater. We are in Venice with Nolno and Laura (the Ruggieri’s grandparents). Nolno lived in Venice for three years so he knows his way around very well. It is easy to get lost in Venice. It is like a labyrinth. So we are glad to have him to guide us. This is our last stop in Italy. I have had such a good time and this had been an amazing expeirience. I am so exited to see my grandparents in North Carolina and to see my Dad in a week!
