The Life Of Bainbridge

Today I stayed home with Dad and Julian while Aunt Shay and Mom drove around exploring. Julian wanted to go to the skatepark, while he skated, Dad and I hungout and listened to music. For lunch we went to Via Rosa. I got a meatball sandwich, Julian got a pepperoni pizza, and dad got a house salad and ravioli. They accidentally made 2 house salads for us so we just gave the extra one to the person sitting next to us. When we got home, Dad and I took a bike ride to Fort Ward. When we got home I watched some TV, and then went up to the pool. I played dad in ping pong, and then swam and shot some baskets in the new basketball hoop.

Welcome Home

Couple more days till Steph and the kids get back. After 2 months on the road, I can’t imagine how they’ll feel being hone. Neat thing is they’ll even have Shay in tow. We just stayed at her place over in Asheville when I was there a week ago. Now she’s coming here for a week.

I think I’ll make them all a welcome home sign.

Zu and Otis

Our dear friend Zu’s dachshund was run over by a car just the other day. The dogs name was Otis. Her neighbor hit him as he ran into the road. He died instantly in front of Zu’s house.

I’m hearing all this 3rd hand. From Zu’s dear friend Austin thru to Steph thru to me.

Otis was everything to Zu. He’s how we met Zu to begin with. They ran into each other on the street. Jewish islander with a wire haired runs into Steph and our pair of weird wieners. The bond was formed instantly.

I drove to Zu’s house on Crystal Springs this morning. A couple days had passed so I hoped she’d be somewhat ok. I didn’t bring anything. I just figured I’d hug her. Unannounced, I knocked on the door. She answered. I hugged her.
