Instagram

both my kids are on Instagram. sounds like a drug. but it’s true. like me on the first rush of facebook, linkedIn & twitter. they are spawning their own networks now on newer platforms and with their own age groups at 12 and 10. What concerns me less is the fact that they do it, but more in why Julian’s alias is squishy_cat2 ?

Thank you note

Dear Mitchell and Gloria,

Thank you for a wonderful time in Franklin. Being reunited with Steph and the kids was such a treat, made even more so by being back home and sharing it with you. So many things stood out for me this trip it’s hard to put into words. I felt a deep sense of connection to your family and your heritage. The beauty of the mountains and the enduring character of its people. And nestled within the backdrop, I felt a strong sense of pride as our own generational homestead begins to evolve. Thank you for all the shared experiences. The determination and devotion. You are truly the well from which we drink. And the wall upon which we lean. Most of all, thank you for Stephanie.

Until our next visit,

jason

This weekend

Sophia is camping over in the very most Pacific Northwest tip of the Olympic Peninsula this weekend. A place called Forks. She’s totally off the grid.

Julian is going to see James & the Giant Peach tonight at the Bainbridge Performing Arts Center and then spending the night at his friends house.

Steph and I are about to have Zu over for dinner for the first time since the passing of her dog.

I’ve been lounging by the pool a lot. It’s been warm and sunny and beautiful.

Work

updates on the work front.

Dell deal still imminent. Last hurdle seems to be clearing Chinese regulatory approval. Upon which they will absorb EMC and become Dell Technologies. The largest computer maker in the world!

I got a small, but totally satisfactory raise just the other day. and some cash retention bonus as well.

When my manger delivered it, by phone as he works in Chicago, i could tell he’s starting to internalize what I might do next.

He asked if I was still interested in sales and I said potentially I am. We agreed on a target manager and I set up a lunch meeting with him next week.

Coincidentally, just the other day,   Barb, formerly of EMC, reached out from her new company with a key position I may be interested in.
